Guys, I admit it! I’ve been feeling a little less than enthusiastic about my kitchen these days, and I am CONVINCED that my cabinets are to blame! We haven’t updated our cabinetry since we moved in, and I am so thirsty for a remodel. However, I know all too well how expensive custom cabinetry is, and I don’t exactly have that kind of budget. My solution? A coat of paint!
Over at Carl Aaston they took a gigantic leap of faith and painted their cabinets a funky color. The teal painted cabinets instantly infuse this kitchen with a much needed dash of color. But aside from the stellar paint job, can we take a look at the DESIGN of these cabinets? It’s even more beautiful than the paint color!
Loving the look of distressed wood? Me, too! You could pay someone to do it for you, or you could distress the paint job for yourself! Visit the Ragged Wren for an elaborate tutorial sure to liven up your boring kitchen.
Woah, woah, woah. Cool mint cabinetry and subway tile? This might be my dream kitchen! The folks over at Better Homes and Gardens used Benjamin Moore Paint in Tea Light 471. The space looks incredibly light and airy, I love it!
The hardware on this set of cabinetry is seriously my favorite, but the dark blue shade of the cabinets makes a serious statement. Pssst…check out the bowl of yellow fruit on the counter. Doesn’t it create a fabulous color scheme? See more at Better Homes and Gardens.
Another one from Better Homes and Gardens, this green kitchen looks instantly clean, open, and happy. I’d never leave my kitchen if mine looked like this. Find this paint shade, and other painting tips on their website!
Nothing says “good morning” like bright yellow cabinets! Paint yours this welcoming shade, and greet your kids with that fabulous “Good Morning!” song. I’m sure they’ll love it…Idea from Grants Painting.
Most people underestimate the amount of time it takes to make your painted cabinets look amazing. This project takes at least 4 days! Make sure you allow yourself enough time to complete your project. On a side note, there must be something with me and blue cabinetry because I am absolutely in love! These cabinets are from Good Housekeeping.
Looking for more of a unique look? Try painting your cabinets in a mismatched fashion. Stain the cabinets on the bottom a dark stain, and keep things a little lighter up top. The white cabinets on top make the ceilings look miles taller! See more at House Logic.
Looking to make things more bright? Always use white! Okay, well not always. But these painted white cabinets from Homes in Israel definitely brighten up this dark space AND make it look more modern. Don’t forget to update your hardware!
Of course, you could always go black! Paired with a white backsplash, this kitchen looks brand new, and ready for entertaining. If you choose to do something similar, use bouquets of red roses to add a pop of color into the darker corners of your kitchen. From HGTV.
