I’ve been growing lavender on my windowsill for the last year, and while my plant and I have had plenty of ups and downs, it presented me with an endless supply of gorgeous flowers. I’ve read that lavender is great for those struggling with anxiety and insomnia, so I wanted to put my beautiful flowers to good use. Instead of throwing your lavender cuttings out with this week’s garbage, add them to these DIY recipes. You’ll be relaxed and glad you did!

This lavender soap recipe smells delicious…but I think the craft paper wrapping is even more adorable! Tie lavender cuttings around the bars with twine from Michaels.

Light one a homemade lavender soy candle before bed for the sweetest {smelling} dreams. Pick up a package of soy wicks from Amazon for longer-lasting candles. Add fragrance and lavender cuttings when the wax has slightly cooled down (around 125 degrees.)

What the heck is cloud dough? Were you as confused ( and excited…) as I was when reading this? I was pleasantly surprised to learn that a mixture of lavender, oil, and flour creates a relaxing dough. Place in a sensory bin when you have a fussy kid for instant relaxation.

Goats Milk is wonderful for sensitive skin, and lavender will help to soothe areas of irritation. You’ll need Lavender essential oils, and lavender cuttings both. Wrap with a bit of burlap and give to your neighbors (or coworkers) as a gift. Or, you know, you could always just keep them for yourself…I won’t tell..

Whipped body butters are luxurious in and of themselves, but then they’re infused with lavender they smell SO much better. You will need to cook the mixture over heat, so make sure you’re prepared to watch it. It’s easy to ruin!

Scones for breakfast are a Saturday favorite in my household! These ones are stuffed with white chocolate chips, black berries, and tons of other good stuff. I can’t wait to surprise my family with these delicious treats on a summer morning!

We have a creek running through our backyard, and naturally it becomes a haven for mosquitoes in the summertime. Even though I try my hardest to protect my kiddos from the pesky bites, we’re all known to get a few or two. Soothe that scratch with a homemade bug bite relief stick.

You’ll be the best party host around with treats like this. Purchase a large ice mold (from Amazon) and freeze long lavender stems. As it melts it will add delicious flavoring to teas, lemonades, and just water.

Lavender cuttings will make your tablescape one to remember this Easter. The striped linen and velvet ribbon combination looks like something straight out of a Little House on the Prairie book. But that’s why they’re so charming!

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and your kid’s can help make Mom or Grandma’s day super special with a DIY perfume. You’ll need water, Essential Oils, and small botanical twigs. Use a clear bottle to showcase the plants!
