I’m absolutely in love with mason jars right now. Isn’t everyone? I think the thing I love most about them is their versatility. So many different uses for just one type of jar. It’s pretty fabulous and here are some of my favorites!
Leftovers: Just stick your leftovers in a jar and close it up. Easiest food storage ever. I know there are so many plastic, name brand and otherwise, containers you could use but if your experience has been anything like mine, they all leak. Yes. All of them. Anyway, storing leftovers in these jars make it easy for me and my husband to see what’s in it, grab it and go.
Light Fixtures: This is probably my favorite use of mason jars but it has to be done right. It’s kind of like when you go to the flea market, and it all just looks like junk but then you buy a piece and bring it home and upcycle it and that’s when it looks like gold. That’s exactly what any mason jar light fixture can be. Junk or Gold. It all depends on where it is in the house, and how much love {and elbow grease} you put into it.
Drinking Glasses: These can be super cute or masculine. The really great part about using the jars as glasses is their versatility! Use them with paper straws for a baby or bridal shower or leave them plain for a BBQ or a Football party.
Vases: Instead of using the plain glass jar, paint it or add some glitter for a touch of elegance. I used mason jars for centerpieces at my wedding and I absolutely loved it. They are cheaper alternatives to crystal vases and if one breaks they’re easy to replace.
Soap dispenser: I’ve seen a lot of these recently and have really fallen in love with the idea. I like it because it’s streamlined. No labels and bad fonts ruining the décor of your bathroom or kitchen. I actually have one in my bathroom and I love it. I just buy a bulk size soap refill and it’s actually saved me a lot of money. Not only that but it’s a little more environmentally friendly then buying a new bottle of soap every few weeks.
Storage: In the kitchen, in the bathroom, in your bedroom…anywhere! I use mason jars in my bathroom for cotton balls, cotton swabs, make-up brushes and toothbrushes. I also have a few in my kitchen for spices! I just love the streamlined look of my spice drawer.
