Firstly, I just want to say that I’ve lived in basement apartments and hated feeling like I never had enough light! It pushed me to be pretty creative when it came to lighting as well as keeping my energy bill low. Keeping your bill low is another post entirely so let’s just focus on some fabulous DIY Lighting ideas, shall we? Excellent.
Mason Jar Fixture: If this is done right, it can look fabulous. The fun thing about Mason Jars is that you can make them into pendant lamps, sconce covers or even chandeliers.
Wood Orb: I don’t really know what else to call this particular light fixture but I have seen this and variations like it on home improvement shows and I think it’s charming.
Twigs: This is amazing. Not entirely my taste but the craftsmanship of this piece is fantastic!!
Doily Lampshade: I love the lacey look with this particular idea. Can you imagine using this in a little girl’s room? Or a nursery? I love it.
Chandelier: This is really fascinating. If I were braver I would totally do this in my house! Can’t you imagine how it would look in the evening with just those lit? Romantic!
Wine Bottle Sconce: How cool is this? I love this idea for backyard parties during the summer and fall! You can use any kind of bottle too!
