10 Effortless Halloween Costumes for Dogs

October 20, 2020 by Picky Stitch Leave a Comment

In my house, our dogs are a member of the family. With the entire human side of the family dressing up this Halloween, we have to include our favorite furry friend! This year, our family is going dressed as characters from the Harry Potter series, and I think our precious pup is going dressed as Dobby. But, these other ideas have my wheels turning!

Are you a fan of the wild wild west? With a tiny hat and a fancy shirt that looks fit for a president, your dog can look like Teddy Roosevelt! And, if you can get your dog to keep them on, a tiny pair of glasses completes this costume!

Did anyone else think that Wonder Woman was serious fantastic? I wish I could look that incredible while saving the world! Dress your favorite pupper up as your favorite super hero, complete with that iconic headband!

This is a doggy costume I can get behind! However..I think I would dress my dog in a Ravenclaw scarf instead. He’s way more wise than he is brave! Get this Harry Potter costume for your dog here.

Do you think you have the best guard dog ever? Dress them up as a police officer so they look the part! A pup like this will scare away ANY intruder. Give him a badge to flash at anyone he “pulls over!”

A simple leather mask can make a dog of any size look like an epic crusader. Buy a red cape, or make your own with fabric.

Your baby looked adorable dressed as a pumpkin, and I think your other “baby” would look just as adorable! Purchase a pumpkin costume fit for any puppy or pug on Amazon.

Take your Halloween party and go international! With a striped shirt, a red kerchief, and a couple of gondoliers, your dog can be a European traveler. Isn’t that something we all want?

No fire brigade is complete without a furry friend riding in the passenger seat! Outfit a red wagon with some necessary fire-fighting equipment, and have someone dress up as the fire chief!

I’d replace the carrots with bananas for a monkey costume that makes a bit more sense (in my opinion anyway…or do monkeys actually eat carrots?) for your dog. Find something similar available for purchase here.

Put the literal “pet” in Chia Pet with this darling costume for pets. Orange felt “leg warmers” create the illusion of a terra cotta pot!

Every biker gang needs a mascot, and I think this adorable puppy would be the perfect thing for ANY motorcycle group. Make sure they keep their eyes from drying out with a set of glasses!
