Living with a tiny bathroom can be tough in the mornings. Especially if more than one person is trying to get ready, and out the door at the same time! Remodeling a bathroom is often expensive and extremely time intensive, and depending on the layout of your home, it’s often hard to create more bathroom space! It’s pretty hard to “double” the space of your bathroom, but these ten tricks will make it look MUCH larger!

#1 Get a Pedestal Sink

You will have to do without countertop space, but because the vanity is often the biggest piece of furniture in the bathroom, you can save tons of space by doing away with it altogether. Just installing one will make your bathroom LOOK so much larger.

#2 Hang Curtains High

Instead of hanging your shower curtain at the top of your shower tile, hang it just below the ceiling instead! Naturally, you will need to purchase a long shower curtain, but hanging them high will create the illusion of super tall ceilings!

#3 Mirrors Make Space

You know what they say about decorating with mirrors! They create the illusion of a space that goes on forever! Install mirrors on any blank walls in your bathroom. Chances are, everyone will appreciate the different mirror angles, anyway!

#4 Use Your Door As Storage

You’ve heard about the amazing capabilities of an over-the-door shoe organizer, but what about using the back of your door to store towels instead? That way, you can use the area where the towel rack used to be for something more useful; like extra storage!

#5 Go the See Through Route

Keep your shower door see through to create the illusion of more bathroom space. Typically, shower curtains “break” up the visible space in the bathroom, making the space look much smaller than it really is.

#6 Slide Right In

If you have a smaller bathroom space, you’re probably surprised at how much room your doors take up! Instead of giving your coveted storage and design space to your doors, make your doors slide instead! Sliding doors vanish into the wall space, creating a steam lined effect throughout your entire bathroom.

#7 Make A Focal Point

Any good designer knows that ANY interior space needs a focal point. In this bathroom, the focal point is the storage ladder nestled between the pedestal sinks. It says “hey, I’ve got storage space!” without taking over the design of the rest of the bathroom.

#8 Repurpose What You Have

Got an old hallway table that has become comfortable in the attic? Break that baby out and turn it into an attention grabbing bathroom vanity. It’s a cheap project that will change the look of your bathroom. Plus, the smaller-than-normal vanity size will keep your bathroom looking streamlined without giving up any countertop space.

#9 Glass Is Gorgeous

Have you ever thought about incorporating glass shelving into your bathroom? If not, you should! Similar to the idea of the glass shower door, glass shelving streamlines the look of your bathroom, and doesn’t “break up” the space.

#10 Put Baby in the Corner

Okay, well don’t put baby in the corner, but put your vanity in the corner! Tucking your vanity away is a great way to “smooth out” the traffic in your bathroom.
